And is just sandwiched between the tranny and block. Tranny bolts and the one stud on the engine block hold it in place. It IS directional though.. so be sure it's in correctly or your one of your bolts at 10 and 2 O'clock will not thread.
The bottom shield goes on the lower tranny bell housing. Should be pretty easy to figure out. The lower one has the nut on it. Hope this helps.
